1839
The history begins in 1839 when Adelaide, mother of Jules Lebrun, considers Cramant as their new place of residence. Their lineage has been characterized for decades by vineyard workers and coopers. In line with this heritage, she persists in her vision, and her son Jules also feels destined to work in the vineyards to perfect them. In 1860, he marries Aline Morizet, whose family has been renowned viticulturists in Cramant for some time. In 1902, their son Henri Lebrun establishes his own Champagne House, Champagne Paul Lebrun. He chooses the name of his son, Paul, anticipating the best for him.
He becomes one of the first grower-producers in the village of Cramant, at the heart of the prestigious Côte des Blancs classified as Grand Cru.
Paul Lebrun strengthens the company’s achievements, giving it new perspectives through significant investments.
Années1920
The 1920s are marked by the encounter of Paul and Marie-Louise. This union will later consolidate the domain’s expansion and the coexistence of distinct and unique terroirs.
Années1930
In the 1930s, the innovative and visionary spirit of the new master of the estate attracts new customers.
Années1960
The 1960s are characterized by a restructuring of the plots. This involves extending the vineyard to the location of a former fir forest on the Côte du Sézannais. Paul Lebrun’s style is now defined by the two terroirs.
Années1970
In the 1970s, Jean Vignier, Paul’s son-in-law, with his roots in Sézannais, strengthens this momentum. He establishes close relationships with the clientele and creates a new space to welcome them, share his knowledge, and let them taste the fruit of his labor.
Années1990
Since the 1990s, the story of Champagne Paul Lebrun continues to be written through Nathalie and Jean, the 6th generation of winemakers.
Today
Now, Champagne Paul Lebrun is more than ever driven by the “passion as heritage,” maintaining its connection to the present time between terroirs and know-how.
The Champagnes of Paul Lebrun recount life stories of men and women who have shaped the unique style of the House.
