Chardonnay, the iconic grape variety of the Côte des Blancs within the Grands Crus, forms the DNA of Champagne Paul Lebrun. The House has tirelessly defended this identity. Each cuvée is exclusively 100% chardonnay.
This grape variety may sometimes require taming, but its undeniable reputation shines in France and internationally for its exceptional quality, the very first.
Its sensitive and delicate character combines freshness and ease of tasting. It unveils delicate and elegant notes, subtle and unique fragrances. Its aromas are sincere and straightforward. It embodies a promise, the creator of great Champagne cuvées.
Since 1902, the House’s signature has attracted aesthetes, Champagne enthusiasts, and wine connoisseurs alike.
The typicality of a Champagne vineyard entity is, above all, a perfect combination of terroir and artistry. It reflects the work in the vineyards, the winemaking, and innovation.
In the 1960s, the Sézannais region gained full recognition and was integrated into the Champagne AOC (Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée). Jean, Paul Lebrun’s son-in-law, quickly asserted the legitimacy of his two terroirs, Sézannais and Côte des Blancs. His mother-in-law, Marie-Louise Lebrun, already had a special connection with Sézannais, her original terroir, which she cherished. Jean Vignier, her son-in-law, continued this attachment. Devoting himself to Vindey, Saudoy, or Barbonne, these specific soils, meant a return to his roots. This unwavering dedication still shapes the daily life of his children. Maison Paul Lebrun solidifies its status and continues its story with one sole aim: endless perfection.
This renewed impetus bestows a dazzling turn to the Champagnes. It reveals a harmonious interplay between the mineral character of the Grands Crus from Côte des Blancs and the floral and fruity elements of Sézannais. The whole embodies a 16-hectare territory.
The Passion for the Earth weaves the history of this family devoted to the winemaker’s craft. It urges them to sublimate the product of nature, Champagne. The expression of the cuvées attests to this dedication.
The Earth deserves to be treated with rigor and delicacy. Champagne Paul Lebrun is committed to the process of crafting its Champagnes through HVE (High Environmental Value) certification.
